What exactly does Multi Total do?

Multi Total works on two fronts. On the one hand, it improves substrate structure (including water retention and airiness), allowing roots to grow deeper and wider. On the other hand, it increases the cation exchange capacity (CEC) of the medium. A higher CEC means that the substrate can bind and exchange more positively charged nutrient ions, so plants have more nutrition available at the right time. This increases your absorption efficiency and decreases your overall nutritional consumption.
